Have you had your child checked for Cystic Fibrosis (CF)? It is a painless test (sweat test) that can tell if your son has CF.

My husband had pneumonia when he was 2 months old and almost died. Luckily someone at the hospital suggested that he have the test done. When he was diagnosed with CF, they realized his older sister (who was always ill) had it as well.

Knowing will help you decide what course of action to take.

Prolly has asthma. Take im to a specialist.

There is no harm in going soon... Better to be safe than sorry

Unless your child is showing symptoms just talk to his/her doctor and express your concerns. Your child's doctor should be your 'best friend' in a sense that you tell them everything medically wise. That way the doctor can better help you in treating your child if there is any issue. If your child is not showing symptoms then don't stress about it now- just take it easy and be thankful he's healthy and worry about it if it does happen (hopefully it won't!)

i think you should wait. feed your son an armadillo and all should be well.

Kim A,
The reason for your question is unclear. You do not state why your son attended the hospital on the two occasions that you mention. If that has any connection to his father having had pneumonia, then if he has been to hospital, what is the problem? I am not aware that eating an armadillo is a cure for pneumonia. Neither am I aware what difference that your husband is Mexican would make to this matter. I shall conclude this rather strange subject by stating that if you have any medical concerns for yourself or any members of your close family, you would be advised to consult a doctor or attend the hospital.
The information provided here should not be used during any medical emergency or for the diagnosis or treatment of any medical condition. A licensed physician should be consulted for diagnosis and treatment of any and all medical conditions.

Hope this helps

asthma is a serious life effecting and potentially life ending chronic disease of the pulmonary system.

If your child had a heart condtion would you wait to take him to a cardiologist? If he had a kidney condition would you wait to take him to a nephrologist?

The earlier the proper treatment plan is started the less likely there will be permanent irreversible damage and the better his quality of life will be. Untreated asthma interfers with growth and learning.

Go to a specialist -- most likely it's asthma...
