Will There Ever Be A Cure For Cancer...?!

Question: It seems to be the 'Holy Grail' of medical research, and many advances have been made over the last 30 years, but do you think scientists will ever find a cure for cancer? And, given the rise of birth rates and general overpopulation and subsequent demands on the Earth's resources, do you think we should be seeking a cure for this deisease?

I Don't think so M'Lud,it appears to be more prevalent today than ever before,my theory is that this is linked to the garbage and chemicals we unknowingly ingest daily, also the pollutants within the atomosphere today, these contributing factors were largely unheard of in times gone by.Then there is the hereditary factor to consider, all too complicated for Scientists to control effectively i fear.

well they are trying hard enough

i hope so it's such an awful disease

there is a cure! chuck noris's tears. too bad he never crys!

i just read about a cure that they say is almost complete. Something to do with micro nano technology or something like that and apparently they will place a nano rod in the cancer cell or tissue and than zap it with a laser. I know it sounds crazy, but it all made sense when i read it, it was in readers digest, you could check it out for yourself

There could easily be a cure for many diseases if we would just work together. Instead the cure of cancer has a hefty reward of cash attached to it, so scientists and doctors alike keep their research to themselves instead of sharing the information.

How long has that Muscular Dystrophy telethon been going on? There may already be cures for many of the once incurable diaeases, but because of greed, it is kept hidden. Had this ever occured to you?

inshallah there will be cure for cancer.

the chinesse did it already, but they dont wan to share it yet.
i really hope they will finally do it..it woul help my friend an my..mum !

I hope so, but it seems a long way away. It seems like alot of focus is on monitoring and treatment at the moment, which is a more realistic goal.
I do so hope there is a cure though.

I hope a cure is found but scientists have been researching that long, I have just about given up believing that they ever will.

Yes we should continue to seek a cure for this disease.
Many types are thankfully curable, but there is still a long way to go.

Cancer is a terrible disease that affects all age groups indiscriminately.

Should we give up on looking for a cure because of overpopulation ? Or look for a better way to "cure" overpopulation?

try the "rife" section here - its in science / alternative area

I'm sure there will be one day, but I don't imagine it will be within the next few years unfortunately. The problem is that the medical companies make more money from treatments in the short term than they do from cures. It is sad but true reality of human greed and business in capitalism.

You wouldn't be asking that if you'd had it. I have had it twice.

Yes, a cure will be found. But it will most likely never be offered. Cancer research is a multi-billion dollar industry. If a simple cure was found millions of people would be out of work (City of Hope, etc.).
I wish a cure would be found and that it would be available to all. I DO applaud the researchers, it is hard work. But I do not trust the people that hold the purse strings.
To your second question: I think God has presented us with some very hard decisions. This applies to food, aids and a multitude of other problems facing the disadvantaged people of our world.

As long as they can make a buck off of it they'll hold on to cancer for as long as possible. Look at all the years they've spent "researching" and today all they do is give people drugs and surgery/chemo which is very expensive and a lot of times painful for patients, but profitable for them.

There are so many causes of cancer, and everybody is built differently, so there is no one cure for all. We should look at the individual habits of a person rather than examining cancer as a "one cause, one cure" type thing. Also there was Otto Warburg, who in 1930's discovered that cancer is a result of lack of oxygen to the bodys cells. He even won a nobel peace prize for it.

This was over 60 years ago, yet today researchers act like there are no break through discoveries and cancer is just an unsolvable mystery. I think they are lying, we do have a lot of evidence about ridding and most importantly, preventing cancer. Yet the public remains uninformed and people are still suffering from this disease. It really makes me sad.

for some types of cancers, they have "cures" they are not exactly cures but they are treatments that have gotten rid of those cancers, i do believe we will find a cure i mean we found a cure for polio which was a very very horrible disease i do agree that there is extreme overpopulation but i do think sometime we will find a cure possibly sometime soon
