I suggest Vicks, hot tea, hot shower... anything hot. My right ear gets inflammed every morning, and I have to take a hot wash cloth and apply it to my ear to get the swelling to go down. It's the same with the nose. It's an inflammation that needs to go down (and hot water usually does it).

You need a nasal spray liike Afrin, generic works fine. The tissues with lotion help that alot, any brand or generic only some leave your nose feeling like you put lotion on it some don't.

q-tips

Try a decongestant. They do wonders... try sudafed... it works really well with sinus stuff. It should help you a lot... As for your nose being red, put a little bag balm on it before bed and it should be fine by morning! Hope it helps!

Good grief! That is the longest runon sentence I've ever seen. Try a vaporizer to keep you nasal passages from getting dried out. Or breath water vapor from a pot of hot water. And take Sudafed. And don't blow too hard; you'll blow your dang eardrum out.
