You are best staying with clear liquids totally until all vomiting stops...That means only: water,Gatorade, weak tea[warm tea is comforting to the tummy],ginger ale,7-up/sprite...they now have OTC[over the counter] Pedialyte that helps replace electrolytes loss during vomiting/diarrhea phases...Very important to keep fluids in you to avoid dehydration! Once nausea/vomiting subsides then you should first rty a warm cup of weak tea, a dry piece of toast[no nothing on it!] or plain cracker. Once you cn hold that down, you can move on to jellos/broths even the cup o soup type or package chicken noodle cook on stove is good start. No dairy/no fruits/NO MILK products til you begin feeling no nausea/vomiting. Yogurt is excellent to put in tummy following the liquid diet when you have no more vomiting. Once you keep the toast/crackers scene doen, then try some soft cereal like oatmeal/farina/cream of wheat...then the yogurt. Soft foods like plain baked or mashed potato & you should be on your way back to feeling good. Just avoid spicy/deep fried etc...Hope ya feel better soon~

orange juice and oatmeal usually work really well for me...stay away from anything really hard to digest and make sure you do not have any sweets...(no cereal, candy, or ice cream for you)

Ematrol is good for settiling your stomach you can buy it a any pharmacy. As far as food goes, stick with crackers and broth. Hope you feel better soon.

When I had it, I had to eat saltines, drink chicken broth, and I drank lots of Gatorade because the salt helps hold it down.

skip food till you're better. fluids are more important -drink often.

If you can't keep anything down, don't try. Suck on ice chips or sip on ginger ale/Sprite to keep yourself from getting dehydrated. Your main concern is keeping down liquids (small sips only). Don't force the food just yet. When you feel better, try dry toast or crackers.

Honestly, depending on what it is, it might now matter what you eat- you could still get sick. Try crackers (low sodium), water, sprite, and see if anything settles your stomach. Of course, the proverbial chicken noodles soup, but try low sodium as well, because you don't want to become anymore dehydrated than you already are. The long and short of it is your bug has to run its course. Depending on how sick you are, you might need to see a doctor for an anti-nausea medication, and/or i.v. fluids.

Puking is your bodies way of cleaning itself and getting rid of whatever you were exposed too. It's best to let it run it's coarse. Anything you eat will probably come back up, at first anyway. So don't eat anything you don't wanna see again until you start feeling better.

Drink lots of fluids but avoid caffeinated, sugary, or alcohol drinks. You can try taking an antacid like tums or tea, especially ginger tea, to help with stomach discomfort. You can also take something like Tylenol or Motrin for pain or stomach cramps but other medicines can actually make you sicker longer.

If your symptoms don't improve and last longer then 48 hrs you should see a doctor. Also the "stomach flu" is not actually the flu(influenza) at all. They are completely unrelated.
