How do you properly dispose of expired epinephrine shots?!

Question: My son has a peanut/tree nut allergy and severe asthma and his epipen shots just expired again and I cannot remember what I'm supposed to do with them. Momnesia creeps upon me again.

lol momnesia, I'll have to remember that one. You don't have a red sharps container? if not take them to the drugstore, they have the containers necessary. You might want to buy one to keep at home, I know some diabetics that have them.

take ema ll at once.

I would give them back to my health care provider and him dispose of it propery and safely

take it to your dr office and they will dispose of it for you

i would take them to the pharmacy, they know how to dispose of them.

Just the chemical epi? No syringes or anything? It can go down the sink or into the garbage can.

You can take them to the doctor or the pharmacy and ask them to dispose of them in a "sharps container".

i will give it to health care center! :D

I threw mine away in the trash. I always do. Crap I hope it was ok to do so.

Many docs or pharmacys will take them back. If not they can tell you how to take care of it.

Take them to a place with a sharps container like a fire/rescue station, hospital, doctors office they all have them

Call your doctors office and ask them.

To dispose of an expired auto-injector and carrier, take it to your doctor's office or to a hospital for proper disposal.

Or drop them at a chemist....

Any hospital will have 'sharps' containers you should be able to dispose of the 'needles' in...but you can check with your pharmacist first, since there is unused medication in the needles they might have a different method for disposal to prevent 'drug' contamination.
