actually, ure not gonna believe this, but my dermatologist said food has very very little to do with acne..she said i can eat whatever i want!! and she is a really good dermatologist..highly recommended..anyway, so just go eat some chocolate!! tell ure mom to go away!lol

Chocolate has absolutely nothing to do with acne; however, if you have a poor diet you'll tend to have more breakouts above the nose and between the eyes which is referred to as your "wine and dine" area according to Face Mapping Charts.

Also, if your diet is poor most-likely you won't have regular bowel movements which will cause you to have breakouts on the forehead and chin.

A lot of people think they have acne and really don't, depending on were you breakout at there are a number of things that you can do to improve your skin that doesn't involve using some pricey topical cream or a pricey "miracle" supplement

I agree with the last answer. I worked at a derm office and food has no affect with acne. Unless you are working with very greasy food, like cooking it. But the food you eat will not affect your acne according to every doctor I have ever met or liturature I have seen come across the office.

Nope, unless you're allergic to something, a food won't make you break out. If you're allergic, it can give you a rash, but has nothing to do with pimples. Pimples are caused by bacteria.

Eat chocolate, it can help sometimes with being a teen.

If you want to reduce some of your breakouts, use a very gentle, unscented cleanser (like Cetaphil gentle (not the normal/oily skin one)) twice a day followed by a mild, unscented moisturizer (neutrogena makes a sensitive skin one that's good). Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to help flush the toxins out of your system, eat fresh fruit at least 2 x a day along with some veggies that aren't cooked until they're grey (no nutrients), and when you have a breakout, try not to touch it too much. You get more stuff on your skin that will make you break out from your hands than anything else.

Good hand washing goes a long way to helping keep you from breaking out and getting sick. Every time you go to the bathroom, sneeze, cough or handle something someone else may have been getting fluids on (phones, soda cans, etc) wash your hands. Get 'em wet, soap up and then wash the front, back, between the fingers and under the nails. That'll keep you much safer than anything else...

Do yourself a favor and don't do those really nasty scrubs (apricot kernel, walnut shell, etc). All they tend to do is cause your skin to get irritated, which can lead to break outs because it makes your skin more vulnerable to infection by bacteria. It also eventually will cause broken blood vessels, which don't look good.

But hey, in answer to your question, chocolate does not make you break out. It makes you hyper (a bit) and can make you gain weight if you eat too much.

There was recently a study that found a healthy diet actually did change the amount of acne a person had. The study found that increased insulin from high glycemic foods (like white bread and sugar) can cause more zits.

What they also found was that a small amount of dark chocolate was fine. A bigger concern is greasy foods in general. . A Snickers a day is out, but as long as you eat lean meat, fruits and veggies a-plenty, you'll be ok with an occasional treat
