It's a bit complex because the way your body gets rid of the epilepsy medications mostly depends on the liver.

There's about a half chance that your doctor will be able to spot that you have been remiss in taking your medications by the level being low.

It's probably best that you tell the doctor what's going on. If they think you have been taking your medicines well and your level is low, they might UP the dose or switch your medications ...

Alcohol also affects how the medications are metabolised (because it affects the liver). I hope you have been avoiding alcohol and other drugs that affect the liver.

Anti-epileptic drugs are usually metabolized in the liver. Doctors do periodic lab works to determine the functioning of the liver and adjust the patient's medications depending on the results. I don't know of any other blood works that is needed for your case. So don't worry, unless you tell her she won't know that you are taking the meds irregularly. But be careful, you're medicine is there to control your epileptic seizure.
