Answers: - I heard its one of the future Asthma Disease .

At present, there are no large, well-designed scientific studies demonstrating that air fresheners cause respiratory disease. This does not mean that none exists - only that none has been found yet.

Asthma is a reversible, obstructive airways disease, often associated with difficulty breathing, wheezing, or coughing. Common triggers include dust, pollen, pet dander, cold air, smoke, and yes, certain chemicals. While air fresheners are unlikely to "cause" asthma, they may trigger an attack in someone with pre-existing asthma.

Personally, I avoid regular use of odor-masking devices (such as air fresheners) because they do not address the underlying problem. You might be better off figuring out what is causing the odors and then correcting it.

try only to use natural air freshers, the chemicals in them are not good for you or your enviroment a natural one i use is slice lemon in dishes

yes they are not good.i heard over the radio, that its bad for health

Air freshners r, bye & large, safe provided u dont spray them on the face of the child.
Asthma is allergic in nature & one can develop it if one is allergic 2 some thing including the ingredients of an air freshner.

that is why most businesses are now scent free.

alot of them make me sneeze and give me sinus and hayfever. I can't be the only one, so it can't be good for you

when i was pregnant i read in a mother and baby magazine about an american study which showed it can cause breathing problems and diarrhea in children, personally i am allergic to air fresheners and plug ins and i think it can worsen asthma, it does mine........

Fkn huffer. just smack the **** till he stops huffing. works every time. or just put it up for adoption .

But i recomend pure butane brand name; gascraft

just dont use them thay have all sorts of chemists in them . try to go for natural air fresheners and if you have to use them make sure your house is ventilated at all times

I don't know of any records but no doubt there are. I do know that it is not good to breath in. Two of my children ( adults now) are asthmatic and very effected by sprays of any kind also scented candles and pot purri.
And as someone else said all these products are VERY bad for the environment.

I haven't heard of any risks (but I haven't been looking for any), but I have heard of a few fires from them if they are the kind you plug into the wall outlet.

I think I would have to agree, with one of your other answers, try using natural remedies, nothing with phosphorus chemicals..etc... will help in asthma related people

Personally, I'm allergic to most of them and really don't like using fragranced oils and plug in's. The warning statements on the packages say enough. I've got the perfect solution that I've used myself for eliminating the odor for good... and safe and totally fragrance free. Go out and get some of the FRIDGE-IT activated carbon odor absorbers - little purple cube - not the imitations. about $3 dollars each and put them in needed areas. Totally unscented so it actually eliminates odor rather than covering up with some nasty fragrance and totally safe to use.
I've used these for worst smells including spoiled fish in car and for closets, fridge etc. Also have two cats and use these on litter box - they are FANTASTIC> No spills or chemicals to worry about. You can buy these in kitchen gadget stores or just go direct which is what I do - contact them at customerservice@innofresh.com and ask for order form. You get it right away.
Definitely the way to go. try it.
Good luck
