Fibromyalgia Question.?!


Question: Does Fibromyalgia have anything to do with nerve problems?? My mom has it and I have CRPS and she
thinks we basically have the same thing... which I dont.
So; can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

Fibromyalgia is suspected to be a disorder of the Central Nervous System (CNS). This has been the theory for about 10 years. This is evidenced by the fact that the 1st drug approved is a Neuro drug and the most effective treatments are neuro related.

I think of it has the electical signals being mixed up and not .carrying the chemcials properly in the brain/

It used tobe believed that it was arthritis related or autoimmune-only some of teh symptoms are similar to Arthritis. The immune system isn't beleived to be attacking teh body as in autoimmune diseases. People often confuse autoimmune with the dysfunctional immune system in FMS.


I have never heard of Lidocaine beign used on someone-as teh pain is coming from the brain-not friom the localized area-

If this ttreatment is working than the person may be misdiagnosed
