This is an auto immune disease. It is usually passed in genes through not every family member will have it.
My father has it and none of my siblings do, but I have it and so do both of my children, though none of our cases are very bad. It is not contagious.

the first response is correct. i have it and my doctor said it can flare up when i am stressed out. i usually just get it on my arms in small spots, but one summer it covered 75%of my legs. then one day it just seemed like it went away.

i don't know if tanning helps hide it or ake it go away, but it always seems to help me.

unless you were born with it, you won't catch it. it's not contagious.
TRUST me! i've had it since i was born, and it started to come out in pueberty.
it sucks! the first thing i tell people is "you can't catch it" just in case they think that. you never know what people think.

Its hereditary. So if no one in your family, including your extended family has it you probably won't get it. Often people that are prone to allergies and asthma suffer from it. It also usually does not come on until the late teen years early twenties. It runs in my family really bad. I don't have it, but I have bad allergies and excema which is similar.

haha i think its passed on
