I don't know what I have but it's really dry skin.?!

Question: On my right hand, and on posterior side of my 2nd Metacarpal Phalangeal joint (MP Join) or the knuckle of my index finger, I have a really dry section. It's really dry skin and it's always there, no matter how much lotion or anythign I put on it, it won't go away. It just stays, what is it or what should I do. It's not a rash, just a REALLY dry skin section, about the size of 1" long and 3cm wide. I thought it was eczema but my mom said I didn't have it.

it sounds just like eczema--i used to have it on my feet because they were "allergic to sweat" and the shoes i was wearing made them really sweaty and gross. there are lotions especially for eczema at the stores that come in small portions (so you can try it without having to buy a whole truckload of it) and they're pretty cheap. normal lotion probably won't work--it's the greasy eczema-healing stuff that you'll need! (:
