What are some thing to help cure poisin oak?!

Question: Or at least stop the itching.

Answers: Or at least stop the itching.

Read the info at the wisegeek link below--it's quite good.

Tips:

* don't scratch your rashes, that can spread the toxins! SLAP an icthy rash if you can't stand it anymore.

* while applying calamine lotion, or a paste of oatmeal, will help dry out the rash and the "weeping blisters", Maalox (or a generic version of it) works well, too --I've done this with great success! Depends if you like the look of pink liquid, white liquid, or lumpy beige goop dried on your skin. Hopefully the rash is on body parts you can cover with clothes (which should be washed afterwards to get the toxins out!)

Oatmeal bath.

neosporin and antibiotics

calamine lotion get it at local drug store, take 2 benadryl every four hours will help also

calamine lotion(the pink stuff) oatmeal bath

Jewelweed, or its domestic relative, impatiens will help. Take a stem from the live plant, crush it up in your hand and rub it on the affected area. There are also some soaps and sprays out there made from jewelweed that you can use.

I've also heard that some people have had luck using external applications of bleach, rubbing alcohol, gasoline or goldenseal. Sounds intense but hey...its worth knowing about.
