Other than cancer what would be the reason for an "abnormal" test resu!

Question: my father has had elevated psa for years and multiple punch biopsies and no cancer. seems his 'normal' is above the 'average range'. but he still gets checked regularly.

Prostate infection. Some docs will give short course of antibiotics then repeat the PSA.
