yes i would do, too.

good on you mate.

here are some ideas.
tell her you do not like smoking and you do not like inhaling her smoke, either.
if this does not wake her up, tell her you think smokers are egocentrical because they make everyone smell their smoke. if she wants to smoke, she should be in the car by herself and everyone else could go in another car.

then you could also:
cut out pictures of anti smoking adds, like black lungs and stuff like that. you could stick them on a posterboard or piece of paper and make a collage for her. use slogans like 'people who smoke are not healthy' and such.

tell her you would like to breath fresh air so you could:
refuse to go in the car with her
refuse to go anywhere where there is smoke
wind the window down completely and stick your head out (this is a bit dangerous mind you so be careful)
offer to take the bus to where you are going and go on the bus.

good luck.

You can't force someone to stop smoking. Most of the time, trying to make someone stop a habit causes the person to smoke (or whatever the habit is) more. Your best bet is to stay out of the car. If your Grandmother wants to stop smoking, she will. If she doesn't, there is nothing in this world you can do about it.

Honestly, I have lived with two parents and they both smoke, everyone around me smokes. You might as well get over it. You cannot make her stop. It is her life you she is chosing to smoke. All you can do is my the choice in your life not to smoke. Sorry to be a downer, but there isn't anything you can do about it.
