Reoccurring Staph Infection. Please Help?!
Question: My oldest daughter is nearly 3 years old. She has had a staph infection every month for the past 4 months. So i know it is not getting killed out. I have another daughter which is nearly 2 and she has had 2 infections over the past 6 - 8 months. I am not sure what do. It is not the MRSA ( thank goodness ). Also I disenfect everything when they get finished with their anitbiotics. Tell me what I am doing wrong.

If your Daughter has reoccuring staph infections that are not clearing up after antibiotic use, then she does have a form of resistant infection. MRSA can develop. You need to follow the same guidelines as treating MRSA infection if you want to kill off these bacterium altogether.
MRSA - the resistant form of staphylococcus aureus infection should not be treated with antibiotics as a first line of defence. This is because antibiotics create resistant strains. Do not, whatever you do, climb the antibiotic ladder as far as Vancomycin.

Try Bacitracin.
I would suggest researching pau d'arco. Topically or internally. Ask an herbalist on the proper dosage for children.
also: Basil oil, oregano oil. Safe, natural, and for some, the only thing effective.
There are soaps made with the oils as well. Also with tea tree oil.

Surely you are thinking that there is obviously 'something-somewhere' both your girls may be contracting the Staph from, if not even exchanging it to one another! My choice would be to get some serious heavy duty cleaning & disinfecting going on EVERYWHERE! The age of your girls may be a hint to where they are getting it from...toddlers have habits that differ from older ones...Begin sterilizing personal items & areas, including toys,crib & rails, all surfaces that are in contact, wipe down light switches,closest doors,etc...even shoes! Anything that is touched...keep the shoes & items that are used outdoors at anytime...outdoors...do NOT bring in shoes, toyas etc...Your girls need to practice meticulate handwashing...make it some type of game to play for them, encouraging them to be always mindful to wash hands! You should go thru your entire home with cleansing...areas you don't think can be the culprit of transferrance of staph...are surely lurking about. Steering wheel of your car, door handles entering your home & throughout your home, etc!
