How did soldiers get treated from tuberculosis during the civil war?!

Question: ???

There was no treatment for them. The drugs we have now were not around then and if they were, nothing was done for the soldiers.

TB is spread through the air by means of "droplets" it is common in close living condidions because respiratory infections spread so easily... someone sneezes or coughs and the droplets fly in to the air and are inhaled by someone else. Imagine how closely the soldiers traveled, slept, ate, etc. There is still no cure for TB today and it is still transmitted the same way in underdeveloped countries.
There was no treatment for TB during the Civil War, which is why it killed so many people.
