Am I going to get a staph infection as well?!

Question: My boyfriend has a small pimple/boil on his nose and the doctors did some cultures on him and he tested positive for a staph infection. I'm wondering how concerned I should be about it being contagious. Should I avoid kissing with him?

Appreciate anyone's help

First of all, please understand what a Staphylococcus aureus Infection can develop into, even with treatment. Use advice given on MRSA infections rather than just Staph advice.

I work with a lot of infected people and Staph Infections are getting much more prevalent and harder to eradicate using antibiotics. Do not let him climb the antibiotic ladder. Instead, try using an antimicrobial solution like New Silver Solution.

Of course, he can use antibiotics in the meantime, as long as they are a low-grade version and not something as strong as Vancomycin. New Silver Solution can be safely taken with antibiotics and enhances their effect while protecting the immune system from too much antibiotic damage.

I would suggest that you take the solution as well, to minimise the danger of transferrance. Staph bacterium can be transmitted through skin to skin contact, through oral intake and sexual intercourse.

Hope that helps you both...

Avoid him for awhile staph is not something you want to get. Have him talk to his doctor and get more details about preventing spread of what amounts to a very unpleasant infection.

No, a simple pimple will not be transmitted via direct contact with the skin, nor is it airborne. Unless you expose the purulent content of said pimple to an area of your body that is unprotected by skin, there should be no transmission of the bacterium so as to infect you.

you should be concerned. quit kissing the boil on his nose. wash your hands well and scrub any surfaces that he has touched well. soap and water need to become your good friends. be sure he follows up with his doctor after all of the antibiotics are gone to ensure the infection has healed.

if it is MSRA The super bug that is kinda nasty you don't want it. Is he on some strong antibiotics? I would keep my immune system strong. I guess it is out in the world anyway and harder to avoid you'll have to decide weather or not avoiding kissing but skin to skin contact can spead it.
