I am sorry for your suffering. It sounds like you have an ulcer and are not being treated properly for it. Try drinking 2% (or whole) milk at least four times per day (6 oz. is a serving) and taking Nexium as recommended. Nexium is now OTC. These days, doctors have neither the time nor the incentive to investigate the symptoms that you explain to them. It is very unfortunate. We cannot expect them to know everything. Maybe they think we do, so they diagnose us based on the commonalities between what we tell them and the shortlist of common illnesses that would bring about these symptoms. That way, they appease our minds and preserve their "expert" status. But this approach is not appropriate, especially when the symptoms are unusual or unexplained. I applaud the doctor who would install Internet access in the exam room and boldly research my symptoms before making his/her diagnosis.

However, if you are or have been bulimic or are suffering from disordered eating, then be honest about it. Vomiting will wreak havoc on your GI tract. Consider this: if you go to sleep 2 hrs or less after eating, or drinking tea, coffee, soda, juice or alcohol -- and you have a acid reflux, guaranteed, you will wake up with the urgency to vomit. Seek counseling. But if you are not bulimic, anorexic, bulimarexic, etc..., then visit a GI specialist, which you should do anyway.

Meanwhile, avoid red crushed pepper, black pepper, mustard, hard liquor, acidic juices, soda and coffee. Eat a Tums three times a day if you're hesitant about nexium (be sure 2 follow directions for Nexium) .

Also, don't consume anything for at least 2 hrs before bedtime, not even water.
