What do they mean by CDC?!

Question: In health, we have to find the definition of CDC for extra-credit. Well, when I went and searched CDC on Wikipedia, well, a whole bunch of stuff came up! I don't know which one it is. The questions comes from a packet about AIDS. Here's exactly what is said:
(Heading) "What if Someone With AIDS is Injured and Bleeds?"
" It's recommended that school and health-care personnel follow CDC guidelines. This includes cleaning up any spilled blood with a disinfectant and cleaning the wound appropriately. Use latex gloves whenever possible to prevent contact with blood."
Which CDC are they talking about? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

technically it's "Centers for Disease Control and Prevention" they added the prevention part to the title a few years ago, and it's always been plural (centers, not center)

Center for Disease Control

CDC stands for Center for Disease Control

its the Center for Disease Control. they research disseases they have guidelines about how to treat and deal with diseases. those are procedures they think that would be best for dealing with someone who has aids and is injured.
