In Walmart your effective pressure ("mean") was nearly 110.
At home, it was nearly 93. Those are the figures you need to look at. Although you don't say what your pulse rate was (and for accuracy you really do need those) they tell you how much work your heart was doing at the two times, and clearly, you were doing much more at Walmart, and your B/P readings reflect that very well. - It wasn't "white coat" effect. It was true physical stress.

The machines are in fact very accurate, IF YOU USE THE SAME ONES all the time, and provided you measure at the same spot every time.

But remember, the actual numbers you read don't signify a plug nickel. They are neither real, nor true, nor comparable with anybody else's.
But CHANGES are real, true and accurate. That is, -if, ON YOU OWN MACHINE, you get a change, then that INDICATES a real, true, actual change in the pressure generated within the left ventricle of our heart.

EDIT: thank you. Your pulse rate figures show that you were doing 1.63 times the work in your Walmart travels than you were doing at home, so the numbers you quote fit in perfectly with this.

There's nothing abnormal nor unusual now. -Ignore the numpties who say there is. You're fine.

you can trust the machines at stores, because they are played with. They will give you werid readings.

chances are when you are at home your stress level is not nearly as high as being at wal mart if you suffer from panic, that is gonna cause your bp to be higher, I think you can safely rely on both machines, you gotta chill, 153/88 may not be optimal, but you arent an athlete are ya? it is not in the danger zone, so try to chill.

Take your home machine to your own doctor and have him/her compare it to the professional instruments in the office. Should only take a couple of minutes for the comparison, and most doctors are happy to oblige. If they vary, at least you will know how much the difference is, and can factor that in. Your doctor may also have advice on how to take the most accurate readings with your home unit.

As you were walking about and in public, your blood pressure probably rose a bit. The home machines you get nowadays are pretty accurate. I use one all the time and my doctor has assured me that it is OK. Don't get your blood pressure taken when out, use your own and you'll have no worries.

blood pressure can change from one moment to another. Sometime anxiety can cause ones blood pressure to rise. I would advise you to make sure your blood pressure monitor is working properly then start monitoring your blood pressure twice a day. start exercising daily for about 45 mins, do breathing exercises to relax, and get some information on eating a diet that's full of fruits and vegetables ( try eating as much raw fruits and vegetables, as you will nourish your inner body. ) Check out the book " God's way to ultimate health ". .....Take Care and God Bless!

your pulse rate is high both places.keep a watch over sudden bp level changes
