Has anyone ever had or heard of a cyst on the pancreas?!

Question: My sister became ill (throwing up and unable to hold down even water) and a CT scan showed a cyst on her pancreas. The doctor said it could be something, or it could be nothing. (I wasn't with her but this is what my dad told me.) They are making an appointment with a surgeon to see if it will need to be removed. Has anyone ever had this happen to them or know anything about this at all?

What is probably happening is that the cyst on her pancreas is pressing against her stomach, making it hard for her to keep things down. My mom had a bout of pancreatitis last year and developed multiple cysts on her pancreas. Let me stress that the cysts were caused by the pancreatitis, not the cause of it. Concerning the cysts, the doctors had two choices. They could either run a tube in and drain them, or wait until the cyst walls thickened up enough to do surgery. The surgery procedure they would have done was to make an incission in the pancreas, and one in the cyst, then sew the two openings together so that the fluid drains back into the pancreas. We opted for the tubes (she had two drain tubes), because, at the time, she was too weak for surgery and the surgeon thought the tubes would be better in the long run. Mom is now out of the hospital, has been to Europe, and is constantly on the go.

Hope everything goes well with your sister. We'll keep her in our prayers.

cysts actually pop up anywhere. its not all too common for it to be on her pancreas but thank the lord its not lethal. my prayers go out to u and yours.

My mother and sister have both had this problem actually it just pops my sister has them all the time yes they're painful and it's uncomfortable for her to have intercourse but they eventually just pop and it's something her doctor told her she'd have to live with
