Would cocain or cannabis help my freind who has Parkinsons disease.?!
Question: I know it is a strange question, and i certainly dont need a lecture on the legality of supliying my freind with these drugs[its as easy as buying milk here in the UK].He is a 70 year old man and has sufferd for about 5 years,he can handle the physical side of things its the depresion which gets him so down,i was wondering if either of these drugs [in small quantaties] would be a help or a hinderence.

Well I do not seriously think any studies have been made. The disease is a deep brain neurochemical problem. I would recommend that you not give a 70 year old coke. Too many cardiac implications. As far as pot goes. I cannot see why not to let the guy smoke it. It could raise his spirits a bit. Yeah so why not let him have some pot. Why the hell not?
I would advise against it because I don't know what Parkinson's medications your friend is taking and what other meds he may be on. There may be unpleasant drug interactions.
FYI: Results from some studies done in Europe suggest that marijuana may ease some of the symptoms. Cocaine has actually been linked to the development and worsening of Parkinson's symptoms.
I suggest he speak to his doctor and get her/his advice.
I don't think Cocaine will be a good option because of it's side effects and they type of condition he has.
Marijuana would be better - it has medicinal effects, and will help him enjoy his life better - it will relax him, and may make him enjoy projects, resulting in snapping him out of a depression.
Good luck!
