Heavy Heartbeat?!

Question: So last night I had this rapid and heavy heart beat that kept me up for what seemed hours! I could not sleep and was so tired. This morning it was very hard to wake up, as it did quiet down eventually and now my heart beat is steady- but after breakfast I got nausea all the sudden, and hot, and threw up. I was fine after that- just threw up once. This has never happened and I am NOT PREGNANT I promise you. I know that would sound like it to me....I have been pregnant 3x and that is what it felt like this morning but I know I am not pregnant. The rapid heart beat however this occurs every now and then at night. Anyone know what this could be? Are they both connected? And if someone says "Go see your doctor" well of course I would if I felt it was really serious.....just wondering how normal or not normal this is.

I'm with Hope wishing you the healing you need. I'm not sure if it was already mentioned or not but stress can do strange things to the body as well. May the Lord bless you and grant what He knows is best for you.

Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies

I had that problem and was so severely anemic that my level was 3.5 when it should of been much higher.
One morning I was throwing up and felt bad because my kids were little and I couldn't see them off to school. The room was spinning too.
I had heavy periods and didn't see a doctor. There were fibroids in my uterus and they said that they prefer not to remove them because they would only come back. Since I already had three children I went ahead and had my uterus removed.
I kept my ovaries because I didn't want to go through an instant change of life and have it prolonged for years.
It got so bad that after cutting only 2 rows of grass that my heart was about to beat out of my chest and I had to stop.
That was a serious problem and I should of known that it wasn't just weakness but I learned that it was a serious health issue.

Sometimes blood sugar will spike and fall for many different reasons. Both of the symptoms - heavy heart beat and nausea are indicative of this problem. For some reason the body is not handling the insulin levels in your blood properly.

I was having similar problems, but they were related to my blood pressure. I went to the doctor who had me do a holter test, which monitors your heart for 24 hours, and I just found out I have arrhythmia, like irregular heart beats. They gave me some new medicine, but the heavy heart beats and the dizziness haven't really changed at all.

I would say that anything that keeps you up all night like that is cause to see your doctor.

Hope you find out what is causing it.

Hi Mandy
I copied this from a website, maybe it will help-

There are many possible causes of a rapid heartbeat, including:
? exercise, heavy lifting or other activity that requires exertion
? fear, pain, anxiety, stress, anger, or nervousness
? fever
? dehydration. This may be caused by too little intake of fluids, loss of blood, diarrhea, vomiting, or medications such as diuretics, sometimes called "water pills."
? low blood pressure, also called hypotension
? hyperthyroidism, which is a level of thyroid hormone in the body that is too high
? congestive heart failure, a condition in which the heart cannot pump blood effectively
? irregular heartbeats, known as arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia. These may be caused by salt imbalances, heart attack, and other conditions.
? anemia (a low red blood cell count)
? medications or drugs. Albuterol (i.e., VoSpire ER, AccuNeb, Proventil, ProAir HFA, Ventolin HFA), which is commonly used to treat asthma, as well as some over the counter and prescription decongestants can cause rapid heartbeat. Cocaine abuse and alcohol withdrawal are other causes of rapid heartbeat.
? excessive caffeine intake
? some herbal therapies such as ephedra, also called ma huang
? infections. These may include such as a serious blood infection called sepsis and pneumonia.
? nerve damage, known as peripheral neuropathy, that affects the nerves attached to the heart. This is often due to diabetes, a condition that results in a high level of blood sugar.
? low oxygen in the blood, also called hypoxia. There can be many causes for this, such as asthma and emphysema.
Other causes are possible. Sometimes, no cause can be found.

Whoa! Quite a list isn't it?
I know you don't want to be told to go see your doctor, so I won't say it- but if it continues you might want to consider it.
God bless you and I hope you feel better soon!
