How bad is mold for ypur health???!
Question: I've had alot of water in my basement lately from rain and a bad problem with a leak in my pipes. It's been wet down there for a month, not flooded but wet. My throat hurts and feels like it is closing and my lungs hurt just alittle, could it be the mold? I How can I find out if it is a problem???

I'm not allergic to it......Some people can't stand to be around mold, though.

Yes that sounds like mold. To some people it's very harmful, to others, it doesn't affect them at all. The most dangerous mold is the one you're allergic to! I can tell you right now you need to get that out because mold takes over like crazy. You probably have stachybotrys mold, or black mold, both of which can be very bad for your health.
Some molds can not only be hazardous to your health, but they can be silently fatal. Please have your basement checked, if you own the home you can call your homeowner's insurance to see if they cover the cost of having the basement cleaned out and disinfected (if it's possible, as some molds leave homes uninhabitable). If you do not own, if you rent, then call the landlord and advise them to get the cleaning done instantly or you will call the local housing inspector and the landlord will not only have to pay to have it done, but they will also be fined for ea. day it goes undone. The landlord will also be instructed to relocate you (at their expense) while it is being done.
