I was in remission for seven years. My cancer is now stage IV and I did have radiation. All treatment now is palliative. I became very depressed and cried a lot. My husband also died just before I found out what was happening to me. I am not hurting. I see my doctors, but I am getting on with my life. I don't want to wait to die. I suppose there could be a problem at some time that I can't get around. I can now and just got back from a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica with a girlfriend.

I had cancer almost six years ago and I am doing very well. When I was told I was being released from medical care after five years it was like having this huge weight removed from my shoulders that I hadn't realized was there. Life has never seemed so good! One doesn't seem to sweat the small stuff anymore!

Simmi, may God bless you. I will have second surgery for Melanoma cancer next month. I am OK with it, I am OK with it, but I truly feel sorry for the children and those that recently lost their spouse. My wife has been my rock, she works 50 hours a week and has to cook dinner and clean house because I cannot due to Interferon treatments. I guess I am being rude stating how great having a wonderful spouse is, when you have recently lost yours. But then again, you will understand when others cannot.
