Can SVT come back after ablation?!

Question: Since I was 13 I suffered from SVT. I was not however diagnosed untill I was 21. Then after a few years of sever episodes (racing as high as 240 bpm) I would have to have it stoped by the medication adenosine in the A and E. I had ablation to stop it. It did work but I always suffered from eptopic beats there after. My cardiologist said my heart was trying to go into svt but obviously the pathway with blocked. I'm now 26 and the last few months I have had some really bad bouts of tachycardia, mainly at night. I do still take beta blockers but they are not helping. I'm up most nights with it. Although it is not racing for as long and only ever reaching around 180 (which is calm for what i'm used to) it does seem weired its coming back. It was caught on a 24 monitor and i'm being refered back to my cardiologist. In the mean time, if there is anyone out there going through or has gone through something similar please please reply. Does anyone know if the ablation can undo itself?

I am going to assume that you are familiar with the definition of an ectopic beat. bearing this in mind, your ablation hasnt really 'undone' itself, what may have happened is that a new pathway has been created which is essentially causing the short circuit causing your symptoms to worsen. but without an ecg it is absolutely impossible to say. it may be a problem with your medication but like i say, its impossible to tell without an ecg.

just hang tight till you see your cardiologist again. i know its difficult, but any other advice anyone gives you is not going to be accurate. unfortunately your cardiologist is the only who is going to be able to answer your question

see the detail's on http://www.phamacy-online.co.cc

My daughter has a history of SVT but is currently asymptomatic. Our cardiologist has told us that the abnormal pathways can regenerate themselves. Hope you can see your card soon and get this addressed, I understand it's somewhat uncomfortable.

You have probably developed an accessory pathway so if it is giving you problems they will probably recommend another ablation. I have patients that have had it done more than once.

God Bless your heart
Im sorry you have to go through this. However i have heard after 2 years it might return. How in the world do you stand that fast heart rate?
Hope it gets under control for you again
