there's no reason to freak out before you know anything yet. Remember, if it was extremly serious they wouldn'y have given you 3 days to call back they would've said immediatly. Dont worry and try to stay calm until you call them back

Your apprehension is understandable, but it will be better to find out what the results of your tests are as soon as possible, so that you and your doctor can deal with anything that is wrong with you right away. Take the attitude I did when I was diagnosed with colon cancer: "OK, what do we do about it?" (I followed my doc's recommendations right away, and I am now cancer-free.)

This happened to my mother lately and it was to tell her that her liver enzymes were a bit high. It ended up being nothing. If it was truly urgent (life threatening), unless they want a lawsuit they would keep trying to call you and not wait till Monday...don't worry.

Not knowing what you went in for, I'll give you my best estimate.

First, calm down, breathe deeply. Second, doctors tend to like to be careful about things, so even if you have soemthing as mild as walking pneumonia (as opposed to something awful and horrible), they'll likely want you in ASAP to start treatment. It's okay to be scared, but remember, they WANT to help you however they can. Third, it could just be they're on a tight schedule and need to finish up your chart so they can get to processing your health insurance, so they need you to hurry up and call so they can disclose your results.

So breathe, and remember you have support if you need it... just remember to ask. If they give you hard news, ask, "What are my options?" ASK QUESTIONS! I can't stress that enough. If you don't understand, ask them to explain. They are there to help YOU.

Just call the doctor office now and let them speak with you first. they should be willing to talk to you over the phone.

Doctors' offices generally avoid trying to scare patients. However, if they say it's urgent, call as soon as you can. Just bear in mind that it may be urgent not because you are in danger, but because the doctor is going on vacation in three days and your opportunity for quick resolution will be lost. Hope that's all it is. Good luck.

Do exactly what starfire said. Then, tell the person who phoned how much what the message said scared you. Maybe they could put it another way or have given you a number to call after hours so you wouldn't have to sit and worry all weekend.

Don't freak out, Honey. I can see why you are scared, but losing your head isn't going to help.

Make that call and find out what's going on, then act accordingly.

Good luck!
