It probably means that there is a considerable amount of salt released when you sweat.

As you sweat, water and salt are released. The water portion generally evaporates pretty quickly, leaving a salty sticky residue on the skin. For someone with fair or sensitive skin, this salt mixture can be irritating. (you could try drinking more water and decreasing the salt intake in your diet...but in general, just shower after exercising to avoid irritation)

There might be some other reason for the itchy feeling. It could be the detergent you use in your clothes. As you sweat, your clothes become damp/wet and the soap left over in your laundry rubs onto your skin. (there are hypoallergenic detergents such as ALL that can prevent this) lotion might also be a possible cause. I've noticed that some lotions don't seem to absorb as well as others (especially the fruity smelly kind)...the perfumes put in them act as a skin irritant when you sweat.

You can't be allergic to sweat. It's mostly water. Duh

Not likely that you would be allergic to something thats coming out of your body.

just shower off and you'll be fine. I don't think you are allergic but your skin doesn't like to be dirty and sweaty. no worries everyone getts like that.

My body does the same if its cold out.

Other than that I'm not sure.

You can't be allergic to your own sweat. The itchiness is probably due to your circulation being improved, you're feeling the blood flowing round more than you're used to.

likely you skin is sensitive to getting repetative drying and weting not to mention the salt.

Sweat is produced inside your body, therefore you are not allergic to it. Thats like saying, "hey am I allergic to my own blood?".

Clean up after exercise, that way your skin will be clean and rash free.

That happens to me too! I think it has to do with the temperature change going on in your body from cold to hot or even hot back to cold.

uuuuhhhhh swet is water? dduuhhhh... r u blond?

no numnuts sweat just irritates your skin the salt for example if you have eczema and starts to imerge if you sweat it will be aggravated just you think your allergic to sweat. the chicken comes befor ethe egg in this situation

Cholinergic urticaria (also known as "sweating hives") commonly affects young adults. They get an itchy, blotchy rash when they sweat. Sweating can be triggered by exercise, sexual activity, stress, hot bathes, saunas and alcoholic beverages, all of which may act as co-factors before, during and after sexual activity as well as exercise! Symptoms usually develop during or just after stopping exercise and can often be prevented by taking an antihistamine an hour or two before the onset of sweating.

I don't think it's possible to be allergic to sweat, but there are conditions that make your sweat acidic or slightly caustic. You may also be (more likely) getting rashes or chaffing or have a skin condition that reacts painfully to the salt in perspiration.

no, but sweat can cause sickness.. if youhave sweat on your body and you NEVER wipe it off, it dries on you and it causes you to bcome sick.. i learned this from my dad when i went to elementry school..

you might try showering before and after your work out

It is possible that you are having a reaction not to the sweat directly, but what is making you sweat. As you exercise, you body gets hot and your sweat glands try to cool you off. As the pores are open, they are exposed to irritation. Your clothes, the fabric softener of detergent in your clothes or just bacteria that comes alive at the right temperature.

You sound like you have sensitive skin. Try to use some no sent detergents and mild fabric softeners and just shower thoroughly after exercise.

it is normal to itch while you sweat. but if it becomes a rash or really irritated i woud go see a doctor.

I think your sweat comment threw everyone off.

Itches from working out can be due to blood rushing to areas of the body. This is especially apparent when doing new exercises or exercising for the first time in a while.
