Nail Question?!
Question: I did my nails by hand yesterday and this morning under my nail hurt like a *****. I want to know if it sometimes happens to you or if i could be infected.

depends what u did to ur nail when u say u 'did' them...artifical nails or just a manicure and did u use implements under the nail, if u did artificial nails did u buff ur nails down, is there discoloration or bruising on the nail bed, blood under the nail, anything like that? ill check back to see if uve added more details and see if i can help

ok well u didnt do any damage to the nail bed just by buffing and painting them...only thing u may have done is damaged the skin at the edge under the free edge, i wont use the true definitions lol...u could have done this by cleaning under the nail or with the file or cutting too close to the nail bed...in that case it may be red and/or inflamed but it will go down...best thing to do is keep it clean until the pain goes away...if it doesnt go away within a day or two max, u may have an infection..if thats the case then clean it with peroxide a couple times a day, if within two days the pain is still not gone, go see a doctor for a deeper infection...if there is pain but no redness or swelling u dont have an infection, its more just damage like a bruise...if ur in doubt, pour peroxide on the nail, if it doesnt bubble there is no bacteria there, therefore no infection...keep in mind ur skin may produce very mild, tiny bubbling on its own, an infection will foam up like a rabid dog lol
other thing too is try to keep the bandage off ur nail unless ur going to be using chemicals etc...the air is one of hte greatest healers
