Chron's Disease, Colitus?!

Question: Since last Sunday i have been experiencing at times unbearable abdominal pain. A pain hard to describe but it is like cramps (sometimes like period pain) and the feeling of being VERY hungry. I had not been going to the toilet very often but i was passing some small stools. The pain has persisted and i have tried antiacid pills (my grandad has some prescribed), indigestion medicine and milk of magnesia. I tried these because i thought i might have had excess acid in my stomach as it is my school holidays and i have changed my eating habits and patterns. However none of these medicines have worked and although i have tried to avoid caffine, spicy and very sweet or artificially sweet foods for a week no progress has been made.
However i have been keeping my fluids up by drinking milk and water and just today i begun experiencing diahrrea frequently. My stomach is making alot of noises which could be a good sign as my mother thought i might just have a stomach bug.

You seriously need to go to a doctor. They can do an ultrasound and/or cat scan to properly diagnose you.

Last week I had bad pains under my sternum and I couldn't stand up. I thought it was bad heartburn. Turns out I needed my gall bladder out. But there was no way to know without tests.

The point is, you cannot diagnose yourself. And.....get checked out before you experience something serious.

Best wishes!

hi lucinna, i am a female crohn's pt. for 29 yrs. you really need to go to a gastroenterologist and have him run the necessary tests to see if you actually have crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. The endoscopy and colonoscopy aren't that bad seeing as you are sedated. Blood work is necessary to see if you have any inflammation in your body.

don't wait around if you are still bleeding. get in to see the MD right away. the sooner you are dxed, the sooner you can be treated correctly.
