Can I get menengitis?!
Question: My husband found his sister unconsious and had her taken to the hospital. They put her in ICU and tell us she has Menengitis. They havent been able to do lumbar puncture yet. She is in a coma and on life support. Her fever is going up to 106.6, irradic pulse, rapid heartbeat. The doctor gave my husband an antibiotic. He came home breifly to change (the clothes were washed in hot water) and talk. Is there a chance I could contract this? What about her dog? What is the incubation time?

i recommend you to see a doctor to protect you from
getting menengitis and will keep your mind at ease.
so take care
It can be spread by coming into contact with an infected person's respiratory secretions.
Menengitis is the swelling of the protective sheath of the nervous system. It can be caused by bacteria or virii. If she is bacterial they will be able to treat and you should get tested(lumbar tap). If it is viral there is not much they can do but keep her body well for when the controls are better.
