How many shots a week, and how many pills? for hep c? What if i decide not to ta!

Question: how long could i live. I have hep c genotype 2b. I'm 60 have really no particular reason to live, all i get is used by my family. if i don't do what they want, they treat me like a dog. I really was as good a mother as i could be.. I get the feeling my grown children are more interested in their own lives than my illness.

Hey there! Your treatment will be for 6 months! It is one shot per week and depending on your weight will be dependent on your dosage. Most take 3 to 5 pills a day (ribavirin).

(Your treatment is 6 months because you have genotype 2b).

GO FOR THE TREATMENT and you will see more positives afterwords!!! And your kids will see and notice the difference!
You will feel soooo much better!!!!!

HUGS!!!!

No one can understand what your going through! Sometimes the ones that are supposed to love us just don't get it. Get mad and get even with your HCV! Do treatment!!! :o) My father, after sending him many articles on hcv, didn't even know I could DIE if I didn't do treatment!!!! WE heppers understand you!!!! Thats all you need!!!

If it is any consolation, I was treated badly by my family and I was very young with HCV- year of transmission is said to be 1975 or earlier. I did treatment after official diagnosis at age 34!!!! (6 years ago!)

Hi Alexis. My friend was diagnosed with HBV (Hep C) and he went through the first couple months of treatments which really was not alot of shots involved, mostly oral meds. He went back and tested negative. Just shows what a little positive thinking and treatment may be able to do. I know his results were atypical but its worth a try, also the worse that could happen is that your symptoms could be controlled and it would lead to a much better quality of life that you do have. I would suggest finding something that would help enjoy living.

Before you even consider Hep C treatment, you should make an appointment with a counselor. Hep C treatment is a year long process and can be greulling. The good news is, you have the genotype that is more likely to be cured with treatment, but before you start, you really have to be ready.

You obsess on the illness without taking any decisive
action on how to treat it.
They may be very frustrated as a result. You have to
make some decisions that are in YOUR BEST INTEREST
and stop looking for sympathy.
Then, if your children don't show any concern, don't commuicate with them.
DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU.
You are going in circles with this and it isn't good for you
or anyone else.
Make a decision as to your treatments..time is a wasting.
I say this as a friend who cares, sometimes we have to
be stern to be heard.
all my love,
pisa
PS:
Once you take ACTION, I think everyone involved will
come to your benefit. I know I will.
