Who cares if you smoke. You are an adult, she is not. No condition you give her, would justify her smoking at age 13. You could get in serious trouble for letting her. Someone would have to buy them for her. Whoever does that would be breaking the law. It is illegal to sell to or buy for a minor. Is it worth going to jail for? She wouldn't go to jail, she would just find another putz to buy them for her, or even worse, steal them for her. If you cave into this, this won't be the last thing you cave in for either. She will own you. She will use guilt trip after guilt trip on you. Is this the daughter you want to raise? Best thing you can do, is put an end to it now.

well i think that if you want her to stop, then you should too.
she won't take you seriously if you tell her its bad and to stop, but you two keep smoking.
don't let her smoke under certain conditions.
i have so many friends who started smoking when they were 13 and it is labor for them to go up the stairs in school.
its actually really sad.
so maybe it should be a family thing.
everyone can try to cut back or quit together

Why don't you make it a family effort to quit. It may be more effective if you all quit as you will be able to support each other through the process. Consult a doctor for info or help on quitting. This way she can't call you a hypocrite as you will not smoke and you will all be doing something positive for your health.

You don't have to take S*hit from your daughter! You're the parent, YOU'RE the boss! It doesn't matter if you are a hypocrite, that's not her place to judge. What she's doing is illegal, immoral and wrong. Make her stop if you really love her.

the best way to lead, is by example. try harder to quit, search online for the nicotine content of cigarettes, find the ones you smoke, then find the ones with the next lower nicotine. smoke a pack or two of those, then switch to next one with lower nicotine, keep going lower, that should be alot easier to quit then going cold turkey or with patches

just make sure not to let others know that she's smoking, it would be best if you just kept the plan quite and stopped smoking as a family.

NO, they get addicted way to easily and do it behind parents backs all of the time. It gets out of control and they lean to other things. (Dude, It's expensive too. How do you afford it?)

I know that this isn't the politically correct answer, but unless you and her mom are ready to quit, you should let her smoke. It will greatly improve your relationship with her, and will keep her from avoiding being at home. At least you will be able to monitor her more closely.
