Your right there. My Mum has had loads of chest infections. She is also asthmatic (although she hasn't had it for 12 years) & she was given tablets

The Royal Family make me sick

If your that old, and it's severe, then yes.

He is 86. Give him a break.

it can lead to pneumonia , even after being treated with antibiotics.

It depends how bad the infection is and if there are any pre existing chest problems. For the majority of people though I would say no!

No, but then I'm not in my eighties.

If it's bad then yes.

Since HRH is 86 and his body doesn't fight infections as a 21 year old's body would, I guess there would be cause for concern. It must be a bad infection for the doctors to advise continuous hospital stay. An infection in the chest is no laughing matter or to be ridiculed. If you can't breathe (depending on severity of the infection) because of the infection you stand a good chance of dying.

A chest infection doesn't know how rich or how poor the person is. Nor does it know how old or you. It has no gender. So you see if you had a chest infection requiring a hospital stay, you too would be in hospital no matter how long it is for.

Yes, you can go to hospital for a chest infection for 4 days or even longer.
