Strange symptom in my tonsils-- what could this be??!
Question: I woke up today and feel some symptoms of being sick, but one of them is particularly strange/noticeable. When I swallow, it feels like my tonsils are blocking my swallowing of my mucus, as if they're in the way or sticky or something. Any idea what this could be?? Thanks!

Sounds like a case of "Tonsillitis" to me. Your tonsils are swollen. Please gargle with very warm salty water. Don't swallow it unless you like to vomit.
Take some Ibuprofen (2-3 tablets = 400-600 mg) every 4-6 hours for the discomfort. Not Tylenol. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and will help the swelling go down.
Drink lots of fluids for a couple days. That will help to thin your mucus. Even iced drinks will help the swelling go down. The gargle is hot because we want the salt to dissolve and the heat will allow the solution to become absorbed into the area a bit. After that, ice will make it all feel better.
If in a couple days it doesn't feel better, you better see your doctor. May be strept throat, or an infection that needs an antibiotic.

Tonsillitis
You might just have a common cold. Colds can infect certain body parts. Sometimes your throat sometimes sinus etc. Give it a few days and see what happens.
