it can be a cold, or sore throat, does ur thraot kill u like mine did last week.. o no maybe i gave u strep =/ u better go to the dr lol. once in a while my dad feels my neck and i have swollen glands but nothing happens...

That means you have an infection. See a doctor to get more information and a diagnosis.
Swollen glands can be caused by any number of things. You could have bronchitis, tonsilities, or even something like mono. You need to go to a Dr. to find out what is causing them. If it is viral, there is very little that can be done except to let it run its course. If it is bacterial infection, he will probably put you on an antibiotic.

if you have fever with sore throat then it might be due to infections at the throat.
the diagnosis of swollen glands depends on the location. at the neck, might be infection in the head and neck region. at the armpits, arms and chest region and at the inguinal region may be due to infection in lower limb or abdomen.
lymph nodes are defense system of the body which helps to clear infection, so they swell up in presence of bacteria/virus coz they're working hard to clear the infection.
however, swollen lymph nodes can be caused by the disease of the lymph nodes themselves, such as lymphoma.
so, you should see the doctor for further investigations and management
