Leaking urine?!

Question: This question is kind of embarrassing?
Okay so I had spine surgery 7 months ago, and got the okay to use my trampoline. I had some bladder problems before surgery, because my nerves were being pinched. So anyway, I went to jump on my trampoline and every time I bunced from the air and back I leaked urine, even though I didn't have to go to the bathroom before. I will have to use the bathroom immediately after. I don't want to tell my doctor, unless I really have to, because it's really embarrassing to me. He's a male and my surgeon, which makes it even harder for me to tell him.
Is this a big deal??
BTW: I am a 14 year old female

At 14, incontinence of any sort is not normal. This is definately something that needs to be addressed by your doctor. The urinary system is quite complicated, and there could be lots of reasons why this is happening. You may be experiencing urinary retention, or there may be other issues with the nerves that are connected to your bladder. Regardless of the cause, it should be discussed with your doc.
All that being said, I know it's embaressing. I know it's easier said than done, but think of it this way... your doctor hears stuff like this ALL day long! He will probably refer to you a urologist if he can't figure out what's going on.... and urologists deal with bladder problems constantly... that's how they make a living. If you don't feel comfortable bringing it up with your doctor, talk with his nurse. Nurses are sometimes a lot easier to talk to because they seem more personable and are the same gender as you (usually). She can talk to the doctor for you. He will have to do the examination, and ask you questions about it, but at least you won't have to bring it up. Also, if you are comfortable, as your mom if you can switch to a femal doctor because you just don't feel comfortable with a male. At 14, I didn't either!
I'm studying to be a nurse, and people are very shy about their bodily functions. I wipe rear ends, insert urinary catheters, change linens of patients who are incontinent of both stool and urine, and I honestly never give any of it a second though. Patient's think about being embaressed a lot more than medical professionals do! Hope you can use one of these suggestions because that really should be checked out. Good luck, and don't be embaressed. Each and everyone of us has some sort of 'embaressing' health problem (doctor's included), and anyone who says they don't is lying!

Your doctor needs to know and believe me he has heard it all! This is not that bad, embarrassing for you maybe, but it probably wont take care of itself either.

I know it's hard to talk to men about things like that. but, as a nurse, I know that in the medical profession, it's really no big deal to them to listen to it. and, anything referring to the spine, it would always be best to tell your doctor. you could try calling in to the nurse at the doctors office and telling her. she'd relay the message to your doctor and they'd let you know if they need to see you or not. but, either way, don't be embarrassed.

i guess this happens to other people too .

Well you should never be afraid to tell your doctor and you should. But in the meantime try the Kegel exercises. They may help..

any weakness in your bladder muscles is going to be exaggerated when jumping on a trampoline. Girls with no bladder problems at all will leak urine if there is enough in the bladder.

I find it hard to believe that 7 months after surgery he lets you jump on a trampoline! That is rough on your back as well as your bladder. While the landing looks soft, each bounce is a hard stop to your body's motion. ........similar to slamming on brakes each time you land.

By all means talk with your doctor. It's not going to phase him a bit and he needs to know your concerns in order to treat you to the best of his ability.
