Why do I have severe allergic reactions to every kind of fruit?!

Question: My allergies include : Strawberries, Raspberries, Plumbs, Blueberries, Peaches, Nectarines, Cherries, Melons, and basically every fruit except bananas. My reactions are quite severe and usually only take minutes to develop. Symptoms include Burning sensations on the pads of my feet and palms of my hands, Swelling of my entire face including Sinuses and eyes, and I am covered head to toe with hives. It usually takes epi, benadryl, prednisone, solumedrol, pepcid, and vistaril in high doses and at least a night in the hospital to get it under control. Nausea also accompanies these symptoms. I have had around 10 of these reactions and have seen several allergists who have not been able to confirm what is causing it.
They have progressively become worse and have now lead to anaphylaxis. I carry epi pens but the list of foods I am now unable to eat is almost too long to list. Does anyone have a clue what could cause this? We have ruled out pesticides as a cause. Thanks, pk

Fruit allergy is a type of food allergy. Fruit allergy is a relatively rare allergy given that ninety percent of food allergies are caused by other foods.[1] Allergic reactions to fruit and vegetables are usually mild and often just affect the mouth, causing itching, a rash, or blisters where the food touches the lips and mouth. This is called oral allergy syndrome. A number of people who react in this way to fruit or vegetables will also react to pollen from some trees and weeds. So, for example, people who are allergic to birch pollen are also likely to be allergic to apples.[2] For those allergic to fruits, cooking may help reduce or eliminate the reaction to some fruits.[2]

Hope this helps!

I'm not sure if this applies to food allergens, but apparently exposure to microwaves/electromagnetic fields can worsen allergic reactions to things like pollens and molds and cause skin reactions, so I would definitely share these articles with your allergist.

Allergic Reactions Enhanced by Cell Phone Use:

Keep in mind though that even if you are not using a cell phone or cordless phone, you are being exposed 24/7 just from nearby cell phone towers and wi-fi. Like you, I have numerous allergies to most fruits.

Wow..I have never heard of that many allergies! That must be so hard. I wonder if perhaps there is just something wrong with your immune system in general? Have you ever had that checked by a specialist?
That's the only thing I can think of..a rare condition that would cause the immune system to kick into overdrive like that.
I hope you are able to get the help you need.
It really sounds like to me, that food allergies are just part of a bigger puzzle, if that makes sense.
Good luck.
