You may want to go to your local pharmacy or medical supply store and purchase a "donut" to use when sitting. This takes all of the pressure off the coccyx and helps immensely. If you purchase 2 of the donuts, you can use one to take a bath with to relax the muscles surrounding the coccyx for immediate relief.
Mine broke with the first child being born in 1983, I still have the infamous donut!
