Low blood pressure 80/55... should she go to the hospital?!

Question: My mom just got her blood pressure taken today,
and it came out to 80/55.

she works as a waitress all day, and she's always on her feet and running form table to table...
she always had weak kidneys as well, so she has a lot of trouble urinating.

today she's short of breath and gets very weak whenever she stands up.
shoud I be worried? should I take her to the hospital?
is low blood pressure very common and treatable at home?

You should get your mum to see a doctor, low blood pressure can be the norm for some people , but if it is giving her symptoms of dizziness, or faintness on standing, it will need looking into. It can have a number of causes so do get it seen to.

If she's not feeling normal and her blood pressure is low, be on the safe side and get it checked out.

Some people have lower blood pressure than others, but that is pretty low.

Since your Mom has symptoms take her to the Hospital. ASAP.

right now she is symptomatic from her BP being low,why it is low i dont know, but she is also short of breath, does she have any chest tightness, probably it is good idea to go to ER. good luck

being that she is sob (short of breath) she should def either call her dr or better yet go to the ER to be safe. Being short of breath could indicate a lot of serious problems. Her BP is quite low too..not treatable at home. she should def go to the er

Your Mom is not taking in enough calories.. She needs to eat more and eat high energy fatty foods.

TRY DRINKING MORE WATER AND GATOR AID

Take her to the hospital. The fact that she is light headed means this is way too low. The may be something minor but you want to know what it is and correct it so she doesn't pass out.
