Am I at risk for CFS - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?!

Question: I'm just now getting over a pretty bad case of mono. It's been about a month since I first showed symptoms. I had a fever peaking at a bit over 103 for 10 days and my throat healed after three weeks. I had a full body rash (thanks to my doctor prescribing me amoxicillin). I did have bouts of extreme fatigue and I did end up sleeping a lot. However, in the initial stages I didn't know it was mono, and on days that I didn't feel quite so bad, I went to school (three days total). I only left the house a couple times (once to go to the ER -.-). But otherwise, I had a lot of bed rest and kept myself hydrated. The fatigue is still lingering and has for the past week. I'm worried that this fatigue will KEEP lasting and I'm gonna end up with CFS. What are the chances of this happening?

i had mono fro 10 months-the second time around-it is not unusual for it to last 6 weeks or more.

in some people Mono does seem to trigger CFS-but not in most people-

it's too soon to be worried-

make sure you get the full blood test that differentiates between past, recovering, current infection-=not just the simple positive or negative--

if you still feel bad once you test as having a past infection than worry about CFS

It's possible, but don't worry yet. However, you are right. Many people with CFIDS did have mono in the past. My CFIDS story is at http://www.fms-help.com/fatigue.htm (but mine did not start with mono). Hope you get to feeling better.
