Brown vomit?!

Question: A few days ago I couldn't eat and couldn't even hold down water. I was vomitting brown, and a LOT, it was also kind of bubbly. Today when I went to use the bathroom and I wiped, on the toilet paper there were small (almost micro) spots of light red blood (not from urine). The stomach ache passed yesterday, after a nap after work today I woke up with a HORRIBLE stomach ache and a very itchy anus (sorry for details, LOL) but then it passed. I'm 19 with no health insurance and my job barely pays my bills (I live on my own, no close family) and I would just like some advice on what this may be. I know I need to go see a doctor, but I honestly have no money at all.

The blood in your stool doesn't sound good... what area do you live in? I'll bet that there's a free clinic around where you live. If they charge at all, it's based on ability to pay usually.

As for the brown hurl, did you drink any soda? Coke looks like that also undigested meat... Maybe you got food poisoning.

Itchy anus could be due to not wiping properly... if the itching persists, get some witch hazel from your local drug store (it's super cheap). It's a great itch reducer as well as good for stopping minor bleeding.

Get checked! Good luck. I feel for you. no health care is a major bummer.

Now I'm going thank my lucky stars that I ate dinner BEFORE answering your question ;-) lol

Brown vomit can be caused from blood (old) of the upper GI tract, stomach, esophagus, or can be something that you ingested. If you have been having GI distress over the last few days irritation of the mucous of the GI tract can lead to bleeding. The small amount of blood from your rectum can also be from GI irritation or hemorrhoids. If you continue to have bleeding you need to have it looked at by a doctor. If you choose not to seek medical attention you should give your gut some rest and eat liquids for a while, jello, both, clear soda, and slowly progress to soft solid foods. Do not eat anything spicy or greasy until it settles down.
