Who is at risk at getting hemophilia?!

Question: Hemophilia is said to occur almost exclusively in males. Although it is possible for females to inherit the disease, it would be an an extremely rare occurrence. The disease is, however, transmitted only by women. The males who are at risk are those whose mothers are carriers of the disease. Both the defective and the normal genes responsible for the clotting of blood are carried on the X chromosome. The X chromosome carries genes that are not responsible for sexual characteristics, but are sex-linked.

The defect responsible for hemophilia is recessive, so it only shows up if it is matched with a similar defective gene for the trait. If the X chromosome is matched with a normal gene, as it usually is, the normal gene will mask its trait. For this reason it is extremely rare in females. However, the Y chromosome lacks a gene to mask the effect of a defect in the X chromosome.

Hemophilia is more common in populations that are inbred (e.g. where people marry their cousins) , such as royal families, because the defective genes tend to show up more often.

males of mother carriers

I dont think you can get hemophilia youre born with it or youre not. you are talking about when your blood wont clot and you just keep bleeding right. Although too much alchohol in youre system will thin youre blood and makes it harder to clot but that is not hemophilia its just stupid I know
