I suffer from dermatitis on my hands?!

Question: Recently it's been really bad...thin, dry, cracked skin on my fingers. I avoid using any chemicals or cleaning products without using rubber gloves and use E45 moisturiser and hydrocortizone cream, which usually helps. But nothing seems to be working at the moment. Can anyone recommend something that would help this painful condition, which I can buy in the UK.

i have the same problem on both my hands. its a nightmare!!!!!!!!!! i have been going to doctors and hospitals for months. i have tried all the creams that you can purchase from shops and most prescribed medecines. i was put on steriods for a few weeks which seemed to help. but it came back. on days when it gets really bad i wrap them up in gauze (bandages) which really helps. if you get creams from your doctor put it on with bandages on top. this helped because the heat inside kept them moist. also you can wear cotton gloves at night with cream inside which also helped.
do you know why you have dermatits??? mine is caused by allergies. find out why you have it and whether it is caused by allergies. usually the allergy is related to cleaning products so you'll be able to stay away from the exact cleaning product or had washs etc. out of all the creams that i have used i would recommend:

as a moisturizer
EMOLLIENT cream (for dermititis and eczema put on as many times as you want) (you can get it from chemist in huge 2 litre bottles)

aqueous cream (you can get htis from anywhere, boots, tesco etc)

the Four best prescribed by my doctor are;
Dermovate
efcortelan
eumovate
hydrocortisone (like you use)

good luck. hopefully that helps and relieves your pain. as i know it is a daily struggle since i can hardly move my hands.

try sudocrem, my nan swears by it

Try with vaselin.It works!!
Also olive oil is very good !!!!

Aqueous cream is very good and reasonably priced. Buy some cotton gloves, available from chemists, plaster plenty of cream on at night and put the gloves on..............

Use goats milk instead of cows milk.
You can buy it at all supermarkets in the UK.

Also a cream called Exorex from a chemist works wonders on my husbands hands.

Now he has goats milk as well his hands are nearly normal.
I have been telling him for years but he just wouldn't listen.
He now say's it all healed up on it's own!

MEN!

Sound like a skin Fungus that can be picked up simply planting
flowers in dirt with out gloves. I have had this for years with out knowing what it was, in total frustration I poured Clorox on my Hands at first it scared me the first layer of skin flaked off, my hands are not dry and cracking any more I still use it on occasion. I used Hydrocortizone its like a magic trick it will be back it only drives it deep in side your body to return again.

Do you have Aquaphor cream there? Cannot recall if I have seen it at Boots or not. It's made in Italy and Germany by the company Eucerin; I have attached a link. Great stuff. You could also give Lush's Dream Cream a try, it's very calming. It has tea tree oil, chamomile, and calamine in it amongst other things. (I have sensitive, sometimes itchy skin)
