Having a nocturnal sleeping habit play a roll in cystic acne?!
Question: I remember when I was in high school and used to wake up early I didn't have so much cystic acne. After I graduated, I started being completely nocturnal and it's gotten worse. Could this be a coincidence or could it be my sleeping all day?

might be
No, but undiagnosed Lyme can cause both cystic acne and becoming nocturnal, I learned the hard way.

I don't think sleeping patterns affect cystic acne one way or another--as long as your pillowcase is clean.
The only "cure" for cystic acne is Accutane. Any other topical or oral medication taken for acne will only control it, but not deal with the root cause.
I have had cystic acne since my teen years and tried everything on the market. It wasn't until I was 30 years old that I finally went the Accutane route and I wish I had done it years earlier. I don't break out anymore at all.
I know there is controversy concerning Accutane, but to me, if taken properly under a good doctors supervision, the benefits more than outweigh the side-effects (especially for a man who does not have to worry about the pregnancy issue)
Hope this helps.
