How can you tell if you have strept throat?!
Question: like i woke up and my th rouat is realllly sore.
but i don't know if it's just a sore throat or strept.
like i dont' wanna waste my money going to the doctors if it's just sore, but i don't wanna go around being contagious if it's strept.

Go to the Doctor!! It's really the only way to tell. If you had tonsillitis (which causes a lot of pain when swallowing) you would be able to see little white puss pockets on your tonsils but with strep you really can't tell without a strep culture and treatment will require a doctors rx for antibiotics.
Tonsils are red with pus on them, fever, tender glands under your jaw. Penicillin will help prevent spread, complications such as abcess and rheumatic fever.
well, if its real bad and lasts longer than a few days then it's definately either strep or some sort of respiratory infection (pharyngitis, upper respiratory infection, etc..) other than that it's real hard to tell.
