Without treatment, chlamydia infection can spread to other parts of the body causing damage and serious long-term health problems.
In women, chlamydia can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, which can lead to:
* ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy outside the womb)
* blocked fallopian tubes (the tubes which carry the egg from the ovaries to the womb), which can result in reduced fertility or infertility
* long-term pelvic pain
* early miscarriage or premature birth
A monogamous sexual relationship with an uninfected partner is one way to avoid this infection. The proper use of condoms during intercourse usually prevents infection. As of 2001, annual screening for chlamydia of all sexually active women aged 20-25 is recommended, as is screening of older women with risk factors (such as a new sexual partner or multiple partners) in order to treat those cases that may not have any symptoms.
Consult GUM clinic.

I KNEW A GIRL WHO HAD IT FOR OVER 4 YEAR AND STILL HAD CHILDREN

chlamydia is a serious vd and can go un-noticed for years in a male or female without being noticed. women normally have a discharge. that's when you need to be checked out but if it has been there for a long time Evan though you've been treated it is best to stay away from the same partner until he or she has been checked up as well or it will come right back with less symptoms.
