Skin Anatomy Question?!
Question: Ok so right now in massage school we are learning about the anatomy of skin, one question we need to find the answer to is "What is different about scars?" I guess like different from your normal skin is what it is meaning. I cannot find it in the book and by reading the info I have been able to find on the internet I am not able to some up with the answer?! Does anyone know what the answer is?! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think what they are looking for is
the skin is different and is not as strong
as well as the scar on the skin there is usually scar tissue under the skin IE from surgery.
I know that my massage therapist will not massage my large scars (old burn)
she told me that they can not take the pressure and the constant rubbing can brake down the skin.
also the scarred skin could not react well to scented products
and for some people they have lack of feeling so they can not tell you if you are hurting them.
