If you have had experience with kemo-therapy, does hair grow back normally?!

Question: my mother has just recovered from kemo-therapy from breast cancer. her hair has started growing back, but its just dark fuzz around the back and sides with absolutely none on the top. it looks kind of like a newborn baby's head. is this normal?

generally, after chemo, hair will grow back. However, it often does not grow back as it had formerly been. For instance, someone who had long fine blonde hair might grow back a dark brown thick head of hair.

just wait and see, and congrats on her recovery.

my grandma had the same thing as her but she got all her hair back i hope the same for your mom some people dont

Give it a little more time. It will grow out.

Yes, mine is growing in, but it is growing in sections, some more than others. It is normal. I am glad that she is doing better, I know it is hard for everyone.

Yes it's normal, just give it time.

I had the opposite - hair on top but none at the sides. It will grow back normally. Many people find their hair grows back thicker

Sometimes people get 'chemo curl'; mine grew back curly at first but is now straight again. And some people's hair grows back a different colour - though grey stays grey :(
