Any home remedies for bad acne?!

Question: I have bad acne, and I can't afford to get Proactiv and stuff like that, so does anyone have any home remedies for acne?

Thanks much :)

Make an oatmeal paste. Use the original kind, not the packets. Mix it with water until it forms a sticky paste. Apply it to your face like a mask. Let it dry. It will be messy and itchy. But it will draw out all the dirt and oil out of your pores. Rinse it off. Then use Witch Hazel as a toner with a cotton ball.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes.

wash with soap every night. pray to the acne gods. get sunlight?

Warm up your face with a warm towel every night for 5 minutes. (open up those pores)
Use a mild soap to wash away any oils and then rub a little bit of hydrogen peroxide on the PIMPLES ONLY.
This will dry them out nicely.

Just hit yourself repeatably with a cactus.
It always works for me.
=D

Drink LOTS of water. (not too much).

drinks lots of water and clean your system out i use to have a HUGE acne problem

Use toothpaste on the big blemishes - it dries them out. Dab it on before you go to bed and wash it off the next morning. Should be less red and inflamed in a few days.

Tea tree oil stops bacteria spreading.

Don't touch them - bacteria from your fingers thrives in an open sore.

Pro-activ is expensive, but it you can find anything in your supermarket containing benzyl peroxide - that is the best thing for acne.

More sunlight, less fluorescent light. I rarely ever had pimples as a teenager, but I know those green masks helped some girls. Noxema was also helpful, but not perfect.

I have very oily skin, and I've tried all sorts of store-bought skincare products with varying success. I like Clean 'n' Clear, L'oreal and Garnier (which is the same as L'oreal, I think) the best if you want a full skincare range that is a hell of a lot cheaper than Proactiv and just as good.

But what really worked for me to get my skin under control in the first place was a bar of black mud soap, which honestly doesn't cost much, and lasts longer than any liquid face wash. I think it's something to do with the salt in it, but that stuff worked wonders. Within a year of using that each day, my skin had almost completely cleared up.

Make sure to use it with an exfoliating brush. I think you can buy the mud soap from Priceline, and I know you can get facial brushes there too. Also, you must use a toner (Witch Hazel is good, it's strong and cheaper than most) and even though you have oily skin and probably don't want to even think about moisturiser, you should use it. Moisture is not the same as oil, so even oily skin can become dehydrated, and the salt in the soap and the witch hazel will dry out your skin. If you get a clay-matte moisturiser (Clean n Clear make one, I believe, and I'm sure others do too) it will help to control the shine on your face as well, and won't feel so slimy as a heavy moisturiser.

I know you probably don't want to hear this but diet plays a key roll in skin problems. Your skin is one of the biggest places your body stores all the bad stuff it doesn't know what else to do with. So most importantly drink pleny of water (at least 64 oz. a day) and eat plenty of fresh vegtables and fruits. I'm have been having skin problems and my naturopathic has suggested this and it has made all the difference in the world.

Apply lime juice and rose water on the acne affected area and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash your face profusely with lukewarm water to get perfect cure for acne. Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne
